CONCEPT AND PERFORMANCE / TAMARA SEARLE
Solo performer and solo spectator in pursuit of radical intimacy.
i’m glad i’ve seen you –
can we make a time to meet?
call me.
In the absence of sunlight is an original one-on-one live art event, drawing inspiration from Australian writer Marjorie Barnard’s short story The Persimmon Tree, where a woman recovering from illness lives vicariously through her neighbour – secretly watching her live life outside while she is destined to remain within. What might happen when the ill woman meets this neighbour after closely observing her for so long?
